About the Brew Noob
Matthew Hurst, aka The Brew Noob, is an advocate of local, craft beer and a blogger. By day he is a communications professional, with a background in online marketing and political communication, who also dabbles in homebrewing and beer snobbery in his off-hours.
Matt grew up in St. Louis, Missouri, home to some of his favorite breweries, and also where he began testing different beers while in college. Later relocating to NYC (by way of DC), he discovered his own beer geekery while dabbling in social media.
In July 2009 @BrewTest became Matt’s beer-reviewing alter-ego on Twitter, with the goal of sharing simple beer reviews in 140-charecters or less. Later rechristened @BrewNoob, it has grown into a Tumblr blog in it’s own right.
