Maybe Guiness really IS Good For You →
At least the BBC reports as much, quoting some scientists who say this low claorie beverage may be good for your heart.  Any excuse is a good excuse, eh?

A Primer on #icing, the latest Frat Boy trend (for @gbullard).  We’re still not sure this isn’t a stealth marketing ploy from the developers of this fine product.

How I Saved my Homebrew from staying Flat
Me: The results are finally in on my first homebrew, a Holiday IPA kit from @bklynbrewshop. It's sweet, spicy, and FLAT :(
theBrewFanatics: You could probably add a little more sugar to your bottles & give the yeast some more time to carbonate. How long since u bottled?
BklynBrewShop: If it's a bit sweet and flat it needs more time to finish carbonating. Move them out of the fridge for a few days and try another.
Me: @theBrewFanatics It's been about two weeks since bottling it and moving the beer into the fridge. We used honey as our sugar instead.
Me: @bklynbrewshop Is that all it takes to restart the yeast? Thank you for the good advice! I'll let you know how it works out.
theBrewFanatics: Did you refrigerate it immediately after bottling?
Me: I tried to follow the instructions of my homebrew kit as closely as possible; next step after bottling was to refrigerate.
theBrewFanatics: The yeast need to work at room temp. The fridge is too cold for them to carbonate. Let the #beer site at room temp for a week. Might even want to roll each bottle a couple times to stir the yeast back up. They should wake up and get to work. Let us know
Me: Thank you so much for your advice. Your blog has some great tips as well.
theBrewFanatics: You should join our #homebrew forum "the MASH" and talk about your brews with us http://ow.ly/1KKW9
...
Me: Woot! I just opened my first homebrew, and the swing-top shot open like a loaded gun! Guess those couple extra days fermenting helped out.

More spent grain recipes from Homebrew on Reddit →
Finding good recipes for using my Spent Grain is hard, so I recently challenged my friends in Reddit’s Homebrew community to come up with better recipes.  In addition to the usual bread and dog biscuit recipes, they had advice on make stews, pizza dough, and even making second runnings for session beer.  Needless to say, it’ll keep me busy in the kitchen after I finish my next batch of...

Context matters in social media, especially for...
As craft breweries extend their brand through social media, it’s important to consider how followers differentiate from fans and advocates. Context of the media is especially important: while labels and logos can make a big impression for beer purchasing descisions in the store, Twitter followers might expect more playful, less formal interaction with a smaller brewer. An except from...

The 5 Most Boring Topics in Beer Journalism →
sostark: One of the main reasons I wanted to write for Beeriety was because almost every piece of ‘beer journalism’ I’ve ever read has been horrible, for many of the reasons laid out here. That being said, we’ve published stories in most of these categories.

Do Craft Brew Labels Effect your Beer Purchasing... →
When picking out a new beer at the store, sometimes the only information I have about the beer comes from it’s label.  I’ve seen the same phenomena with wine drinkers who pick a bottle based on the label alone, although at least they’ve usually grouped by wine type. We’re all prone to favoring beers with catchy names or trusted breweries, which is arguably why the major...
