Will 2011 be the summer when cans become popular across the craft beer scene?

It seems like more craft brewers than ever are releasing cans of their summer/seasonal beers this year.  While bottles traditionally seem to be the preferred vessel of small batch brewing, one has to wonder if the trend will reach the tipping point in 2011?  For example, local brewery Sixpoint (based in Brooklyn, NY) is releasing their “mini-kegs” just in time for memorial day weekend:

  1. chimpotle answered: Cans have a better seal from air and no light gets in. They transport easier, and if you’re supposed to pour into a glass anyways…
