Remember when we wrote about Imperial Stout Troopers? Just like the series that is it’s namesake, the brewers at New England decided to make a “Special Edition” of the beer.

But it’s not a sequel; unlike George Lucas’ calculated attempt to make you buy the newest edition, this version only slightly changes the appearance of the label to placate Mr. Lucas’ concern over his trademarked characters. I’ve also heard it has persuasive powers to turn you to the dark side of the stout…

I’ve been seeing my friends talk about Pizza Beer lately, a brewing company in Illinois, that offers their “Ale brewed with basil, oregano, tomato and garlic”. I have to admit the combination of flavors sounds terrible, even though I pair pizza and beer frequently enough and have been known to mix tomato juice and lager on occasion. Still, it’s hard for me to get past this combination known as “Mama Mia! Pizza beer”..

Great idea to save and re-use your favorite beer bottles - turning them into candles. Glass cutting is actually a lot easy than you think, and so if you have a beer lover in your life these might make a fun V-day gift.

Schlafly Reserve Imperial Stout is one of my beers tonight. This beer is very strong and very good. This one I enjoyed with BEARable Beers and my wife out on the patio of a great place called Smooth Endings in MO. We all enjoyed the bourbon taste of this beer and in saying that if you are not big in the stronger alcohol this beer might not be for you. This beer I felt would be best enjoyed with a cigar or a juicy steak and you don’t want to rush it because if you do, it will bite you hard and in saying that here is the beer specs: …
