Re: Beer in Chicago?

  • Me: I'm traveling to #Chicago this weekend: what beers should I drink in the Windy City? #craftbeer
  • Bangertimo: Do a search on #CCBW or follow @Chibeerweek. Tons of stuff happening this week. Beyond CCBW, get to @piecechicago or @HaymarketPub. Great eats to go with great beers.
  • Me: @bangertimo thanks for the heads up on #CCBW - sounds like my trip to Chicago is very fortunate timing!
  • DrinkIPA: its not from Chicago but i’d say Three Floyds, Bell’s, or Great Lakes
  • lots: Daisy Cutter Pale Ale! Brewed here in Chicago by Half Acre. So good.
  • fainall2000: All of them.
  • Thanks all for your recommendations! Here's a list of what I tried -
  • Me: Toasting my good friend's engagement on top of Chicago — Drinking a Honker's Ale @ The Signature Lounge http://untp.it/JGfgNj
  • Me: $4 on draft during #ccbw — Drinking a Stone IPA by @StoneBrewingCo @ Mother's http://untp.it/K1CWbO
  • Me: Tried my first @FinchBeer over te weekend, and it was as tasty as I'd hoped #CCBW http://pic.twitter.com/uIQixO5D Beautiful amber color, with a crisp balance of hops without being overly floral (Cut Throat Pale Ale) http://untp.it/Jb2thh

Beer in Lawrence - what should I drink?

I’m headed to Lawrence, Kansas this weekend, so I’m wondering which local, craft beers option you’d recommend for my trip?  Feel free to share with your favorite Kansas/Missouri* brews I should check out, and I’ll try to see what I can find in Lawrence…

* Keep in mind I grew up in St. Louis, Missouri, so I’m already hip to Boulevard and Schlafly beers.  Both are great brewers, an I’ll probably drink those when I can’t find something new.
