I created a list of Breweries around the New York City area (and Long Island), which this beer blogger currently calls their home ! Fellow beer lovers can use the list to tour the best local, craft brewers around the metropolis. And if you see any of your favorites that are missing feel free to leave a comment so I can add it to the list.

Touring the Sixpoint brewery in Red Hook, Brooklyn, NY. It’s operated out a tiny workspace not much bigger than a 2-bedroom apartment in the heart of Brooklyn’s Red Hook community. Still out of the tiny brewery come some of the most creative, and lovingly brewed beverages available in New York.
Sixpoint is close to where I live in Brooklyn and is available at many of the best bars around NYC, so I hope to visit one of my favorite local breweries during American Craft Beer Week!
Are malt beverages with caffeine more dangerous than alcohol by itself? Several states have proposed bans on these beverages, including Michigan and Oklahoma, and maybe even NYC.
“Four Loko and drinks like it, are a toxic, dangerous mix of caffeine and alcohol, and they are spreading like a plague across the country,” said Senator Schumer (D-NY) recently. Just when beer lovers thought they were finally safe from the scourge of Bud Extra (aka B^e).
