Sixpoint solidifies their lead as the brewers to beat with the release of Apollo in 2012, just in time for summer beer season.  I’ve had a few of these already, and even my friends who usually avoid craft beer are hooked…
Review via theorderofgoodbeer:

Picked up a 4-pack, expecting to be delighted by my first taste of Sixpoint’s American Pale Wheat Ale. Little did I know that those Brooklyn brewboys abandoned that style in favor of a Kristalweizen (which, after tasting, I can only assume is German for “brewed with unicorn tears & angel sweat”).
From the grassy, sweet, banana-bubblegum nose to the smooth, lemon-clove taste and the crisp dry finish, this was simply a great, great exbeerience.

I’ve got one more of these in my fridge, and it won’t last much longer.  This 7th beer in Sixpoint Brewery’s Mad Scientist series truly lives up to its name as a resonating Double IPA flavor, and enough floral hops that it’s nearly yellow-green in color.  It’s a good reminder that tasty beers can come in tiny (12 oz) packages.

Everything a DIPA should could ever hope to be. Go get some. Drink it. You’re welcome.

Touring the Sixpoint brewery in Red Hook, Brooklyn, NY.  It’s operated out a tiny workspace not much bigger than a 2-bedroom apartment in the heart of Brooklyn’s Red Hook community.  Still out of the tiny brewery come some of the most creative, and lovingly brewed beverages available in New York.

Sixpoint is close to where I live in Brooklyn and is available at many of the best bars around NYC, so I hope to visit one of my favorite local breweries during American Craft Beer Week!

I like Sixpoint craft ales, brewed in Brooklyn (not far from where I live). In this video Sixpoint founder talks about the art of brewing beer.

All I could think about was how to make this beer and not kill anybody.

In this video narrative of Sixpoint’s “Dr. Klankenstein” beer project, it takes you through the entire journey from concept, to testing, to obstacles, and ultimately - the beer right in Brooklyn.

Working with a drier, cleaner yeast - ferments slower, and puts the spotlight on the hops - you ready to make new friends?

The science of beer is so strange a wonderful, especially to look at up this close.
